Dr. Heike Bailin (A physician specializing in Acute Upper Respiratory Tract Infections) of the NIH will discuss “Managing Potential Contagious Exposures to Infectious Diseases in the Workplace”

 

Dr. Bailin will discuss different pathogens found in the workplace that may require a special response because of the outbreak potential.  Some specific aspects include:

  • What pathogens have legal reporting requirements
  • How to report
  • Where to go for help
  • How to prepare for potential exposures and how to respond appropriately
  • How to encourage workers to report potential exposures while assuring confidentiality
  • What happens in public health during an outbreak
