The Chesapeake Area Biological Safety Association (ChABSA), is an incorporated, non-profit organization that is an affiliate of the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA). ChABSA was established in 1987 by local area members of ABSA with a similar interest in the safety of research using microorganisms and recombinant DNA.

William So is currently a Policy & Program Specialist for the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate Biological Countermeasures Unit at FBI-Headquarters since 2006. In this capacity Will provides subject matter expertise, in the field of biological sciences, for matters dealing with FBI policy, national policy, response planning, and biosecurity matters. His current projects include bridging the gap between researchers/academics and law enforcement/security officials with all levels of stakeholders inside and outside of the U.S. in matters related to biosecurity, dual-use, emerging technologies, and pathogen security. Will earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology in 2005 and a Master’s of Science in Ecology in 1998 from The George Washington University.
