Key Note Speaker 
Christopher Hanson is the Associate Director for Scientific & Business Operations for the Division of Intramural Research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Bethesda, MD. He is a mission focused scientific professional with experience in strategic program management, business operations, infectious disease research, vaccine development, high containment research policy, laboratory space design, and facility renovations.
Chris serves as the Chair of the NIH Occupational Safety and Health Committee and is passionate about enabling scientific discovery with a keen eye on safety, productivity, and speed of relevancy. His scientific career began at Celera Genomics working on the human genome project, grew at NIAID to include vaccine development with high containment pathogens, and then shifted into program management and administration. He holds a BS from George Washington University and leadership certificates from the NIH. He and his wife, Annie, live in Poolesville, MD with their two daughters.
